ABOUT US

My name is Kathryn and I am the founder of Wellbeing South Wales. I am a wellbeing and therapeutic coach.  I have worked with children since 2001 and have been a qualified holistic therapist since 2004.

 

Over my years working with children, including a few years working in a school, I could see the emotional and mental health issues children and young people were facing I decided to train in wellbeing to combine my passion of mental and emotional wellbeing along with children and young people, to offer the range of services and products that I have available.

Building a child’s confidence, self-esteem and resilience is important, but we’re often unsure how these characteristics are developed and what we can do to help achieve them.

 

Relationships are the key! They are the foundation to positive well-being. Which is why I offer a non judgemental and compassionate service aimed at bringing families closer together. Whether through supporting the parents, the whole family, or individual child/young person.

During my sessions we look at:

  • The secrets (proven by science) that lead to happiness, well-being, increased confidence and self-esteem

  • How children’s brains work and how they can manage the tough times through simple habits allowing them to roll with the struggles and disappointments life throws at them

  • The key to creating positive relationships with friends and others so they have a solid group of support of both adults and peers

  • The importance of goal setting and how to do it with children.

  • What and why we should take time to reflect on situations

 

It’s time to put an end to confusion and uncertainty and start helping children develop the confidence, resilience and self-esteem needed to thrive.

Each class and 1:1 is unique, drawing on my knowledge and various training to support the child, young person or parent/carer I am working with.

 

I combine all of these elements to put in my sessions that help children and young people understand their emotions and learn to self regulate.

 

During the sessions I use

  • Games

  • Yoga

  • Massage

  • Breathing exercises

  • Positive self talk

  • Relaxation.

I also use therapeutic play, to help support the child/young person with emotional difficulties, to help build a good working relationship and to help achieve an over all positive well-being approach.

 

In my classes I have covered topics such as anger, worry/anxiety, fear, loneliness, kindness, self esteem, exam stress, self acceptance, self responsibility, self empowerment, resilience, gratitude, self care, power of our thoughts, healthy relationships, growth mindset, goal setting, panic attacks.

 

I offer a range of services from 1:1 sessions, mentoring, small group sessions, community classes, family workshops, emotion coaching, training courses, staff well-being, sessions in schools and for charities.

 

My 1:1 sessions are bespoke and adapted to suit the individual and their interests. For example I have done sessions around Harry Potter, origami, unicorns and more.

My desire is to support children and young people to grow and heal emotionally. To help them understand their emotions and teach them life skills, through therapeutic techniques, that will enrich their life's and change the direction of their lives from pain, hopelessness and feeling alone to create enriched, fulfilled, joyful, abundant lives.

 

I want children to know just how incredible and powerful they are.

 

I desire to empower all adults who work with or have children to understand their journeys, build and strengthen their relationships, to be an emotional support to children, and have abundant lives.

 

In my spare time I love being out in nature, and spending time with my family. Making the most of every day. I also volunteer for shout, a crisis text line.
